PDF & PRINTING / PAGE SIZE GUIDE
Change PDF page size to A4, A3, Letter, Legal, or custom
A PDF can contain pages with different physical dimensions. A report assembled from scans, forms, and exported slides might switch between A4, US Letter, landscape, and unusual custom sizes without making that obvious in a viewer. Those differences can cause awkward printing, clipping, or inconsistent margins. BFOTKit lets you inspect each page and change PDF page size to one selected paper format. It creates a separate PDF for each source document, preserving the original files on your device.
How to change the page size of a PDF
Select one or more PDFs, or drag them into the file area. The tool lists each page’s dimensions in millimeters and labels common paper sizes. Review the report, select an output format, and choose whether every page should be portrait, every page should be landscape, or each page should keep its source orientation. Click Download resized PDF to create the result. A single input downloads as a PDF. If you selected several files, the results download together as a ZIP with a separate resized PDF for each input.
Choose standard paper sizes
The preset formats are A4, A3, US Letter, and US Legal. A4 is common for office documents in many countries; Letter is common in the United States. A3 provides a larger sheet, while Legal is longer than Letter. Selecting one preset changes the page canvas of every output page to that physical size. The tool fits the source artwork within the new page while keeping its proportions. If the source and target shapes differ, blank space remains around the artwork instead of stretching it.
Set a custom page size in mm or inches
Choose Custom size when a preset does not match your printer, stationery, or finished document. Enter the short side and long side, then select millimeters or inches. You can choose portrait or landscape for every page, or match the orientation of each source page. A custom format is useful for booklets, labels, forms, and specialty paper. Check your printer’s supported paper dimensions before printing: changing a PDF’s page size does not make an unsupported sheet fit your printer tray.
Bring mixed page sizes into one format
When you combine PDFs from different sources, a page-size report helps you find the mismatch before printing. The table shows file name, page number, detected size, and dimensions. Choose a target paper format to resize all pages of each PDF in the batch. To make every output page’s width and height identical, set a fixed portrait or landscape orientation. Match each source page if you want to preserve its orientation while standardizing the underlying paper format.
Use it on your device without installing software
This change PDF page size tool runs in a modern browser on desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone, subject to available memory. You do not need to install a PDF editor or create an account. Files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to BFOTKit. The tool accepts up to 10 PDFs totaling 100 MB and up to 2,000 pages combined. Large or complex documents may take longer to convert, especially on devices with limited memory. A batch ZIP names each resized result after its source file, making the downloads easy to tell apart. Keep the browser tab open until the download begins. You can repeat the conversion with another paper format while leaving the originals unchanged.
Check the resized PDF before sharing or printing
The output embeds each page’s visible artwork onto a new page. Text and graphics keep their proportions, but small source pages may be enlarged to fit, and different aspect ratios can add white margins. Interactive links, form fields, and annotations may not carry over. Password-protected files may need to be unlocked before conversion. Open the downloaded PDF, inspect pages near size changes, and print a sample before a large run. Keep the original document in case you need another format or orientation later.
